The Meadow Ridge Solar Committee Started with a Mission

Every step of this process – from our first discussions with the Solar Committee to flipping the switch in December – has been collaborative. We at Meadow Ridge are grateful for the vision and tenacity of Susan and the Solar Committee, and for the essential role the Connecticut Green Bank played in bringing this project to life.
— Brett Mehlman, Meadow Ridge Chief Operating Officer

Susan Auslander, a resident at Meadow Ridge Continuing Care facility, saw an opportunity to implement clean energy and decided to take charge. After Susan formed a Solar Committee to come up with a plan, the senior living facility was eager to collaborate and implement solar on the property. Connecticut Green Bank worked with Meadow Ridge to help them through the process of installing their upgrades. The solar photovoltaic system installed on the facility by Verogy of West Hartford will help reduce energy costs by more than $3.5 million over the life of the system and will offset more than 600 metric tons of carbon each year.
