How C-PACE works
C-PACE brings together property owners, the Green Bank, capital providers, contractors, technical reviewers, municipalities, and mortgage holders to make green building improvements practical and financeable.

The C-PACE process
Higher performing buildings
Property owners of privately-owned, non-residential buildings can use C-PACE to design retrofit projects or develop new construction and repositioning projects built to higher energy standards.
Trusted program administrator
Connecticut Green Bank administers C-PACE statewide and coordinates across owners, contractors, capital providers, technical reviewers, municipalities, and mortgage holders.
Access to attractive financing
Capital providers support projects with long-term financing. Retrofit projects can spread costs over time, while new construction can reduce average cost of capital.
Experienced contractor network
Contractors help property owners plan projects that reduce energy use, including lighting, HVAC, insulation, controls, automation, solar PV, and other improvements.
Robust project review
Technical reviewers help confirm each project meets program requirements, including savings-to-investment checks for retrofit projects and higher standards for new construction.
Simple & secure repayment
Municipalities enable repayment through a property assessment. The assessment can transfer with ownership and mortgage holders consent when required.
